Attention all DLN's! I have returned from my absence with good news! I am settling down in monsteropolis again. I want to continue my work and research as well as being close to my family. So I have bought a large house where I'll be working. But! The residence has many bedrooms, and those rooms are reserved for you all if you wish to come live with me, or only stay a few days while I get settled and spend time together. I hope to see you all soon. Dad misses you a lot! Love, Dr. Thomas Light.

Hornet looked at the message with disgust. The last thing that he wanted was to be dealing with Light. But knowing that several Light-robots would likely be there…

He’d look into it.

“How unfortunate for you. At least you weren’t turned to scrap. I’m actually surprised you’re still around.”

“Yeah I’d rather not talk about that shit., and you know last time I checked you weren’t this much of a dick? Maybe creepy looking but nicer…”(He looks you over, from bottom to top, as if that would help to find whatever was making you act so different).

“Yeah well maybe I’m just not in the best of moods. Ever think of that?” He crosses his arms. “You should beat it before your mouth gets you into trouble.”

dwn-041blizzardattack:

“I won’t argue with that logic.”(Blizzard shrugged) “I tried a place like that once, I almost got the job, until they recognized me from the Tournament, it all went downhill from there. Pff they thought I’d be super powerful around ice, and freaked out”

“How unfortunate for you. At least you weren’t turned to scrap. I’m actually surprised you’re still around.”

If you’re so bothered by sweaty people and the heat why don’t you go somewhere a little more accommodating? Or maybe you’d rather just be put out of your misery?

“It’s hard on my salary pal, not a day goes by I don’t think about it…Wow well aren’t you adorably macabre”

“We might all be better off with a little less negativity in the world. And as for your salary, if you worked at an ice skating rink you might not have as much of a problem. At least then you’d get paid for being in a cold environment. Sounds like a dream job.”

dwn-041blizzardattack:

Oh wow I greatly apologize then! I mean, I shouldn’t complain so much since it bothers you,and that’s the last I wanna do!  BY ALL MEANS I’M HERE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY HORNET I HAVE NO OTHER PURPOSE IN LIFE EXCEPT THIS!

If you’re so bothered by sweaty people and the heat why don’t you go somewhere a little more accommodating? Or maybe you’d rather just be put out of your misery?

dwn016-woodman:

How does Plant describe me? I can’t say I was being completely serious, but then again I doubt I could think of anyone any better.

Well whenever he talks about you he seems to mention how appreciative of life you are, and how gentle, and powerful, among other things. And I’d like to think that I’d be high on your list and that you weren’t just joking around.

dwn016-woodman:

What?

… What. But by the way Plant describes you I wouldn’t be opposed. If I was single, that is.

Revenge as Sweet as Honey

Wood’s walk back to his house with Plant is peaceful until he gets a strange sense that something is wrong. It’s likely to be nothing more than his paranoia from being away from the forest for a short while, so he tries not to act any differently. Home is close, but he has the feeling that he won’t be able to relax until he’s at least given the immediate area a look around.

Hornet of course noticed Wood walking alongside Plant. This sort of problem was not going to be easy to avoid. But he refused to let it get in his way, hovering behind them and not wanting to waste any time. A flurry of chasers was sent out toward Wood; he knew they would scare Plant off. With Wood out of the way he’d be able to finish what Toad started.

Revenge as Sweet as Honey

Hornet had grown tired of waiting, tired of looking for targets. The city’s defenses were up and he could see how even the Wily robots would have had trouble managing an attack. But being on his own, or nearly on his own, was different. It was so much more of a risk, especially considering he wasn’t exactly as combat-ready as many of the others.

He was on the brink of going to Wily himself when the news that Plant had been repaired met him. All that his partner had worked for, even if it was merely practice, was not going to be an effort in vain. He decided that it was time to finish the job once and for all.

Unfortunately for him, the research institute had taken several precautions toward keeping the facility safe. Ultimately it wasn’t a problem, though. He knew of one robot in particular that Plant gravitated toward. Perhaps it was time to pay him a visit. Show up at the right time, and his target was sure to be around. With that thought in mind, he readied his chasers and stormed the forest outside Wily Castle, searching the trees for an unwelcome little flower.

So spring was almost here. Humans and robots alike had begun to flood the city for festivities, and all Hornet could think about was how vulnerable many of the Masters would be. Unfortunately for him, they would also be out in public where an attack would be nearly impossible. Knowing that he wouldn’t be able to resist the urge to join them and wreak havoc, he’d decided to take to the skies, hovering around the tops of buildings to observe from afar.

If he was lucky, perhaps he would catch someone off guard. A little robot who’d decided to venture out on his own, or one who was lost and unfamiliar with the place, would be enough to give him a chance to loose some of his violent energy. For now, though, he’d sit and wait and watch from his little perch, sending a chaser out now and then to bring him food and other things from below. He’d wait all day if he had to.

It worked?! Extremely relieved, Toad jumps away from the tree so he’ll no longer be cornered and watches.

Snake had lunged to grab Toad’s arm but was distracted by the newcomer and missed. He frowns and hisses as he turns to find a maker damned honeycomb looking bastard standing between him and hiiiiiiis uuum wooow okay shit those sure were a bunch of freaky flying needle bug things hovering around the guy. Snake’s eyes go wide and he puts his hands up. “Hey what the hell Light Bot, I haven’t touched the kid. Put the weapons away.”

“No.” Hornet crossed his arms and had a brief glance at Toad. “Get out of here.” He was lucky to be in the same area. He knew teaming up was a good idea… “I don’t care what your intent is or was.”

snakeman-022:

dcn026:

If he wasn’t already backed against a tree, he would have jumped back several yards at the feeling of that tongue. Maybe a hug is all you want… Maybe he’s safe since you haven’t done it yet without his permission… But if he lets you, you could easily not let go and carry him off and do anything! You always make him feel so incredibly tiny. He vigorously shakes his head, and consequently most of his body, then calls out for help, the only thing he can think of to do. “Help me! Hornet! Anyone…!?!”

Snake gives an amused sort of “tch” sound. He would have snorted, but he doesn’t have a nose. “A Light bot? Really?” He laughs. “Like any of them have the bolts to show their faces around here! Come on Toady, just one little hug?” He wets his lips and the tail of his helmet twitches like the tail of a cat watching a laser pointer.

Hornet, not ever wanting to stray too far from Toad when possible, had been scouting the area when he heard the other’s cry for help. His eyes narrowed and his chest echoed with a loud buzzing as he swarmed into the area with his chasers. The sight of Snake was only slightly upsetting… this robot had pledged allegiance to Wily, so why was Toad so bothered? It didn’t really matter as he saw him looking at Toad with the eyes of a predator and he landed with a solid thud.

“Is there a problem here, serpent-robot?” His chasers hovered around him, pointing their sharp tail-ends at Snake defensively.

The Birds and The Bee- er, Hornets

dln69-jewelman:

-Jewel frowned, barricading the door with his chair and drawer.- Hornet, what’s going on with you?! If you’re so angry with me, talk to me about it! Why are you so bent on killing me?! -Jewel desperately hoped that the barricade would be enough. He didn’t want to fight Hornet.-

He stared at the door before slamming himself in it again. “I wouldn’t expect a poorly-built robot such as yourself to understand something like that!” Though the door was giving, Hornet’s weight wasn’t much up against it with his limited space. He backed up  to launch himself against it again, deciding that if he could not break it down he would just wait. Jewel couldn’t hide forever.

dcn026:

“I don’t even want to fight them, not while there are so many other useless robots out here. Why not just speak to their leader..?”

“You act as though it would be that simple. Perhaps we could convince those who guard the fortress to allow entry… I suppose it’s worth a shot.”

The Birds and The Bee- er, Hornets

dln69-jewelman:

What did I do that was so bad?! -Jewel didn’t like to shout but Hornet was crossing the line. He made it to his room, immediately locking the door. He wiped his tears. Why was Hornet being so mean to him? He hoped that the Chasers stopped following him.-

“You and the others in your line aren’t worthy of calling yourselves my brothers!” Unfortunately for Hornet, even his complacent, gentle demeanor was unable to escape the hold of Wily’s virus. He let his chasers hover as he stared at the door, ramming himself into it after swinging a kick into it. “Don’t bother hiding, you won’t be able to for long!” The weight of his frame wasn’t much against the door, at least not at first. “Open this door and I will destroy you quickly instead of making it a torturous ordeal!”

He wasn’t even considering that others could be around, not that it would have worried him. He was on a mission.
